Generative AI
This page is for LSE students. If you're a member of staff, please refer to the staff generative AI guidance.
AI tools can complement and support your learning, helping you to explore ideas, understand complex material, plan your work, or think through difficult concepts.学习理由Learning rationale
As an LSE student, you've got free access to two AI tools:
Claude and
Copilot
. Both come with enterprise-level privacy protections, so your data stays private and isn't used to train the underlying models.
We encourage you to experiment with both tools and find what works for you. For example, you might use Claude to work through a research question, break down a complex reading, or explore a concept you're finding difficult. Copilot can help you summarise material, draft emails, or think through ideas via the Copilot Chat interface.
Before using either tool in your academic work, always check your department's guidance. You'll find this in your Moodle course under General Information. We've also linked to some onward policy and guidance resources further down this page.
